Lonsdale Avenue converted into giant waterslide

The City of North Vancouver put Lonsdale Avenue to a different use on Saturday (August 22).

Utah-based Slide the City turned the steep hill into a 300-metre waterslide stretching from Keith Road down to 4th Street.

Water was reportedly brought in from Abbotsford and recirculated.

This ensured that the event conformed to the regional government's Stage 3 water restrictions.

It's a good thing because Mayor Darrell Mussatto happens to be the Lower Mainland's water czar in his role as chair of Metro Vancouver's utilities committee.
