      FRIDAY, AUGUST 28

      PNE: Vancouver indie-rock greats the New Pornographers (above) perform as part of the PNE Summer Night Concerts series, while local pop acts Old Man Canyon and the Mounties play as part of the Mosaic Music Series.

      PAUL: Canadian pop legend Paul Anka ("Diana", "Put Your Head On My Shoulder") plays Hard Rock Casino Vancouver.

      PRANKSTER: comedian Damonde Tschritter (above) is featured in a night of standup at Yuk Yuk's that also includes Ian Wallace and MC Ryan Paterson.

      PUNK: local ska-punk band the Brass Action plays the ANZA Club, with guests the Elixxxirs and Sweet Leaf.

      SATURDAY, AUGUST 29

      PNE: Canadian rock legend Tom Cochrane ("Life is a Highway") performs as part of the PNE Summer Night Concerts series, while local party band Five Alarm Funk (above) plays as part of the Mosaic Music Series

      PIGBacon Fest 2015 features a selection of dishes featuring bacon, live music by Still Spirits, local craft beer and spirits from Odd Society Spirits, friendly farm animals, and farm market.

      PETER: British rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Peter Frampton (above) plays Hard Rock Casino Vancouver.

      PAGAN: highlights of the Vancouver Pagan Pride Festival at John Hendry Park include seminars, vendor booths, face painting, and Celtic clothing and jewellery.

      POWERFUL: screening of Martin Scorsese's 1976 drama Taxi Driver, starring Robert DeNiro (above), at Vancity Theatre.

      SUNDAY, AUGUST 30

      PNE: American pop singer-songwriters Colbie Caillat (above) and Christina Perri perform as part of the PNE Summer Night Concerts series, while Nanaimo blues-rocker David Gogo (above) plays as part of the Mosaic Music Series.

      PROLIFIC: American songwriting great Steve Earle ("Copperhead Road", "Billy Austin") leads his roots-rock band the Dukes at Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, with guests the Mastersons.

      PARTIER: Memphis bluesman Little Victor (above) plays the Rio Theatre, with local guests Harpdog Brown & the Travelin' Blues Show.

      POP-UPUrban Pop-Up Market at Rainier Provisions features local clothing, jewellery, truffles, kitchenware, skincare products, candles, and baby clothes.

      PINK: the Pink Salmon Festival (above) at Vanier Park features a barbecued salmon lunch at a celebration that includes family-friendly activities, live music, face painting, interactive storytelling, and educational displays.
