One of Vancouver's best known restaurant companies is expanding its footprint in Whistler.

Toptable Group announced earlier this year that it planned to add a second location to complement Araxi Restaurant + Oyster Bar.

      Today, it released more details.

A dual concept named Bar Oso and The Cellar by Araxi are coming to life thanks to the efforts of Box Interior Design.

"Bar Oso, located Village Stroll level, will be open daily to the public to serve sharing plates, compelling cocktails, and approachable wines," Toptable Group president Michael Doyle said in a news releae. "While The Cellar by Araxi will allow us to extend our private dining and meeting space options."

Oso is the Spanish word for bear and this venue will offer small plates of Spanish-influenced dishes, including Iberico ham, bocadillos, and pinxtos.

Araxi's restaurant director, Neil Henderson, and Chef Walt will be responsible for both operations.

Toptable Group owns Blue Water Cafe, CinCin Ristorante, West Restaurant, and Thierry in Vancouver.
