Vancouver will finally experience heavy rain this weekend

Thirsty lawns across the Lower Mainland are receiving a reprieve this morning from Stage 3 water restrictions that have outlawed sprinkling.

This morning at 6 a.m., light rain was falling across the region with the humidity level reaching 92 percent, according to Environment Canada.

Periods of rain will continue until early this afternoon when the forecast changes to cloudy with a 40 percent of showers.

Heavier rain will begin after midnight reaching 30 to 40 millimetres on Saturday (August 29).

Expect showers on Sunday (August 30) followed by more rain that evening and on the following Monday (August 31).

Metro Vancouver announced Stage 3 water restrictions on July 20 when the region's reservoirs were at 70 percent of capacity.

This has made it illegal to turn on lawn sprinklers, wash cars, or use pressure washers for aesthetic purposes.

Commercial car washes are permitted to continue operating.

What is this thing you call "rain"?
We do not know of such thing.

Water is what we buy in plastic bottles for coolness and cool
