Straight guy empathizes with LGBT struggles and pain
Empathy requires being able to put yourself in someone else's shoes and feel the feelings that they experience.
Traditionally, men have been discouraged from being emotional and expressing emotions (with the exception of anger) which may in turn impede the ability to empathize with others.
Yet in the moving video below, a straight guy shows how empathy can be a strength.
He talks about how he was defriended on Facebook because he has a gay brother who got married. He then begins to empathize with the discrimination and pain that LGBT people experience, and shows what a true ally is.
The more straight guys there are like this, the more likely our world will become a much better place.
