      UBC sexual assaults  The RCMP says that six sexual assaults on UBC's Point Grey campus since April 19 may have all been committed by the same man. There will be a "Take Back the Night" rally on campus tonight.

      Beer in grocery stores?  The B.C. government is examining whether to allow the sale of liquor in grocery stores following an 84-day consultation period regarding the distribution of beer, wine, and spirits.

      Sexual-disease warning  According to a CKNW Radio report, Fraser Health has announced that it's seeing an increase in chlamydia among people between 15 and 29 years old. Medical-health officer Dr. Michelle Murti says it could be linked to less funding for sex education in schools.

      Laura Robinson delivers paper  Journalist Laura Robinson submitted a paper to a Danish sports conference last night about former Vancouver Olympics CEO John Furlong. It came after Furlong announced that he would "escalate" his defamation suit against Robinson, which was filed after she wrote about him in the Georgia Straight.

      Harper's approval plummets  Ekos Research has revealed that Prime Minister Stephen Harper's approval rating has fallen to 24 percent, an all-time low, in the wake of the Senate scandal.

      Trudeau speaks at Petroleum Club  Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau has told members of the Calgary Petroleum Club that he supports the proposed Keystone XL pipeline. Trudeau reportedly blamed the federal government for mishandling the energy situation, resulting in unnecessary criticism of the Alberta oil-sands industry.

      China arrests Tienanmen suspects  The BBC has reported that China has detained five people in connection with a "violent terror attack" on Tianenmen Square on October 28. A car, allegedly occupied by three members of China's Muslim Uighur minority, drove into a crowd and exploded into flames.

      Sochi Games loom  It's 100 days until the 2014 Winter Games begin in Sochi, Russia, at a reported cost of $51 billion.

      Canucks host Red Wings  The streaking Vancouver Canucks hope to snare their 10th victory of the season against Detroit at Rogers Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

      Kerry Washington is pregnant  E! News has reported that actor Kerry Washington is expecting a baby four months after her marriage to San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.

      It's discouraging to see this provincial government debasing our civil society by selling alcohol in grocery stores and increasing hard liquor availability and beer volumes at hockey games. As of the next fiscal year (2014) post-secondary tuition will generate more income for the government than corporate tax, this also is true of the MSP premiums generated versus corporate tax.
