The 2103 Coup de Coeur series takes place from November 2 to November 21 across various Vancouver venues. This year, the event, which celebrates Francophone music and songs, will feature Martha Wainwright, Isabelle Longnus, and Louis-Jean Cormier with Anique Granger.

Montreal-born singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright will kick off the series with a concert devoted to the songs of Edith Piaf. The concert will take place Saturday (November 2) at 8 p.m. at the Fei and Milton Wong Theatre at SFU Woodwards (149 West Hastings Street). During the show, Wainwright will perform her own renditions of Piaf’s repertoire that she recorded a few years ago.

On November 16, singer-songwriter-composer Isabelle Longnus will perform at the Jules-Verne School auditorium (5445 Baillie Street) starting at 8 p.m. Longnus will present her new show, Code Bleu.

Louis-Jean Cormier and Anique Granger will close the series with a performance together at the Norman Rothstein Theatre (950 West 41st Avenue) on November 21 at 8 p.m. Cormier is from the Polaris Prize-winning band Karkwa. He debuted his solo album, Le treizième étage, in 2010. Granger will open for Cormier. The Saskatchewan-born singer first made her mark as part of the Polly-Esther duo but has been pursuing a solo career since 2005.
