Reel Causes partners with VLAFF for El Patron screening

      Reel Causes has partnered with the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival for a screening at this year's festival.

      Based on real events, El Patron, Anatomy of a Crime, follows the tale of an illiterate apprentice butcher who goes on trial for the murder of his employer. The 2014 Argentinian film explores a story of worker exploitation, class struggle, and the ethical lapses in the meat industry.

      Reel Causes is a community-based organization that supports change through film, highlighting offerings that address social justice, environmental, and health issues.

      The Vancouver Latin American Film Festival is on now and runs until September 13.

      El Patron screens on at the Cinematheque (1131 Howe Street) on September 5 at 3 p.m. and on September 9 at 9 p.m.
