Halo 5 video sends chills down spine

The opening cinematic to Halo 5: Guardians has been released by Xbox and 343 Industries. Being released on October 27, this is the first Halo game developed for the Xbox One.

The story is told from two perspectives. The first is through the eyes of Master Chief, the protagonist of the franchise. The other perspective is that of Jameson Locke, who is investigating and trying to apprehend Master Chief for alleged crimes.

In this video, Locke and his Fireteam Osiris drop into a battle from orbit and show what Spartan soldiers are capable of. Side note: that is Nathan Fillion reprising his role as Edward Buck, a character from Halo: ODST.

Super sim-strategy games for mobile on sale

Game designer Sid Meier was behind many of the amazing simulation-strategy games that are popular today. Two recent iOS versions of his games, Civilization Revolution 2 and Starships, are on sale for a limited time

Also included in the 2K Editors' Choice Strategy Bundle is XCOM: Enemy Within, an expansion to Enemy Unknown, and is one of the coolest strategy games I've ever played. The set-up is that you're in command of a military force resisting an alien invasion of Earth.

Simulation-strategy games require players to learn how to manage resources, process information, and even understand global systems and politics.

Note that these games were designed for newer iOS devices, so you'll need to be running iOS 7 or later.

All three games are on sale for CDN$22.99, but this deal will only be around for a few weeks.
