Cat lovers will unite at Jericho Beach Park on September 13 for Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association's Walk for the Kitties.

The sixth annual five-kilometre walk raises money to help orphan cats in need.

This year, organizers of the no-kill charity hope to raise $50,000 to aid in kitten care and rehabilitation as well as its trap-neuter-return program for feral cats and kittens.

Registration for the walk is $25 (plus service fees) and can be done online.

In the name of interspecies harmony, dogs are welcome at the walk.

Since 2000, VOKRA has saved over 14,000 felines from around the Lower Mainland.

In the name of interspecies harmony, is our disappearing bird population invited too?

Whatever happened to the poor ole gaffer on the right? I'd take him right this second and spoil him rotten.
