Dresses by celebrated fashion designer Andre presented at TAIWANfest

Taiwan is home to several First Nations, who've had a profound impact on artistic expression in the East Asian island nation of 23 million.

Vancouverites have a chance to see this at the annual TAIWANfest, which continues through Monday (September 7).

Taiwanese fashion designer Andre has incorporated his country's aboriginal heritage into some extraordinary geometrical designs.

If you look at some of his dresses below, you just might spot some animals embedded within the fabrics.

These designs are on display at the Robson Square ice rink along with some very expensive bamboo furniture.
