From September 17 to October 3, The Best Laid Plans: A Musical takes over the York Theatre (639 Commercial).

The play, presented by Touchstone Theatre and Patrick Street Productions, is based on author Terry Fallis's satirical novel that takes place around Ottawa during the runup to a federal election.

The Best Laid Plans: A Musical, in which a soon-to-retire speechwriter must find a Liberal candidate to run in a traditionally Conservative riding, features 10 Vancouver actors.

Peter Jorgensen directs the world premiere of the current stage adaptation, which features music and lyrics by Benjamin Elliott and Anton Lipovetsky.
