Christy Clark landslide shows why online surveys can't be trusted

For the third time in 15 months, there's been some obvious highjacking of a Straight online poll.

The first concerned a vote for worst premier in the past generation.

Christy Clark was nestled in third place until a torrent of overnight votes pushed Bill Vander Zalm passed her.

The next occurred in September when a bot of unknown origin gave me a landslide victory in the survey of most disliked B.C. political journalist.

The third bit of skulduggery involved a recent poll by our younger staffers. It asked readers for their opinions on who the hottest politician is in the region.

Former Green party candidate Jodie Emery had a huge lead until an onslaught of votes came in for Christy Clark. (Click image below to enlarge.)

Does anyone seriously believe that Clark warrants such a huge lead?

Don't the puerile backers of the premier have anything better to do with their time?

More seriously, if they're so eager to fix a vote like this, how far will they go to ensure that their candidate wins a real election?

No doubt there was some serious tampering going on.

Clark is close to 50 years old, and not aging particularly well. Sometimes in recent pictures she looks bloated, puffy and has many very defined lines and furrows on her face. Seriously, Clark over Emery - a 28 year old, in shape, dark haired beauty in her prime.......I would believe that just like I would believe everything that cascades from Clark's mouth!

      What a pointless poll.
