Chinese Canadian National Council plans to blast Jimmy Kimmel

Tomorrow, expect the Chinese Canadian National Council to come out with a blazing condemnation of late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel.

The group that represents many Chinese Canadians has already written to Citytv and its parent, Rogers Media, and complained to the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council about Kimmel's controversial remarks on October 16.

Kimmel stated on the show that killing everyone in China was "an interesting idea". Later, he said: "Should we allow the Chinese to live?"

It came during a skit with children about the amount of U.S. debt held by foreigners.

"The promotion or even the suggestion of genocide cannot be excused even in a satirical late-night show," CCNC executive director Victor Wong said in a media advisory issued today.

His group will hold a news conference in Toronto tomorrow morning at 8:30 Pacific time.

We'll see if Wong mentions that Rogers, which broadcast the Kimmel show, also owns Macleans magazine. In 2010, Macleans got into hot water a while ago for a headline suggesting that UBC was "too Asian".

Of course, the CCNC could simply request that everyone in Canada change their cellphone plans from Rogers to Telus. That might get the attention of the Citytv bosses.

I have difficulty with the notion that any viewer would have come away from the Kimmel show with the notion that the host was endorsing genocide.

But racial protest groups need to protest racial things, otherwise why would they get to have meetings, vote themselves into directorships, and make grant applications?

Strive for relevancy, strive strive! Look, someone is combing their hair to straighten it, that is a mockery of Asian hair! Look, someone used a yellow crayon! Oh no oh no!

Joke at other ethnic groups instead of the Chinese the same way before dealing with Chinese people. If someone thinks it appropriate, do the same joke on African people or Jewish people! No one dares to making fun of Jews this way!

If some one is owing your family a debt and he said he is going to kill all your family member so he does not have to pay back the debt. Do you still think that is interesting and funny?

The Canadian broadcaster - Rogers Media - offered an "apology" and CCNC has rejected it: http://ccnc.ca/content/pr.php?entry=275.

We'll be supporting Chinese American groups in their dialogue with ABC and Mr. Kimmel. As for next steps, a complaint has been lodged with the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council and an resolution is expected in due course.

What I getting at is that this is not a JOKE , however , is a serious fact . If your friends own you some money , why not kill them ?
