      Brooklyn-based producer and DJ Taylor McFerrin tours in support of debut full-length release Early Riser, with guest Photay, at Alexander.

      American folk-rock singer-songwriter Martin Sexton tours in support of latest release Mixtape of the Open Road. Held at the Imperial.

      American pop-punk band All Time Low (pictured above) performs on its Future Hearts tour at the Vogue Theatre.

      The Salish Sea Gathering features performances by Buckman Coe, Christie Lee Charles, Children of Takaya, Kimmortal, and Locarno. Held at Cates Park.

      The Ismaili Jamatkhana and Centre hosts music by composer and vocalist Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan.

      Northwood Jazz Series opens with a performance by pianist-vocalist Diane Lines and her band. Held at Northwood United Church.

      Ladies of Country III features music by BCCMA artist the Heels, Ajaye Jardine, and Joey Clarkson. Held at the Roxy.

      English guitarist and singer-songwriter Jon Gomm joins Canadian guitar legend Don Ross for a concert at the St. James Hall.

      Highlights of World Rivers Day include demonstrations, displays, tours, activities, crafts, and music. Held at the Burnaby Village Museum.

      Place des Arts hosts Family Day, at which kids can  tour three exhibitions, meet some of the artists, and participate in all-ages art workshops.

      LITERARY EVENTS

      Franci Louann and Janet Kvammen host poet laureate Candice James in a Culture Days event held at the Heritage Grill.

      An evening of music, literary readings, a silent auction, and secondhand books for sale raises funds for the annual Writer's Studio student anthology. Held at the Fairview Pub.

       

      MUSIC

      French classical guitarist Judicaël Perroy takes the stage at Pyatt Hall.

      The Vancouver Recital Society presents German cellist Maximilian Hornung and Swiss pianist Benjamin Engeli at the Vancouver Playhouse.

       

      THEATRE

      1920s murder mystery Who Killed Kraft Bier? features a cast of characters drawn from the city’s past. Held at Mount Pleasant.

       

      MOVIES

      Sharing Our Stories screens digital short films created by Burnaby seniors. Held at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts.
