Vancouver will host the largest hockey event that has ever taken place in B.C. on March 2, 2014. The Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic will see the Vancouver Canucks face off against the Ottawa Senators at B.C. Place.

The Heritage Classic, a series of outdoor regular-season NHL hockey games, launched in 2003 and was hosted by the Edmonton Oilers. In 2011, the Calgary Flames played the Montreal Canadiens in the second Heritage Classic. The Canucks are the third Canadian team to host the event, and this is the first time that the Heritage Classic will be played in a stadium with a retractable roof.

Tickets to the Heritage Classic range from $62 to $325 and go on sale Thursday (December 5). The Straight was given the presale code at a media preview last night. Enter “NHLSocial” into the presale box and start purchasing your tickets, hockey fans.
