Cornwall Avenue near Burrard Bridge to close for part of weekend

Expect traffic slowdowns this weekend near the corner of Burrard Street and Cornwall Avenue.

The City of Vancouver has announced that Cornwall will be closed between Cypress Street and the Burrard Bridge from 7 a.m. Saturday (December 7) to 6 a.m. Sunday (December 8).

The Burrard Bridge will only have one lane going in each direction over the same time period, and Burrard Street will also be reduced to a single lane going through the intersection with Cornwall.

Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to traverse the intersection.

According to the city, this construction project will ensure that pedestrians will only have to cross two streets rather than a maximum of five. Another objective is to slow traffic coming off the bridge and onto Cornwall.

The reshaping of the south end of the Burrard Bridge is expected to cost $6 million.

SPY vs SPY
At 6:00 Pm this Saturday evening - Burrard street was backed up from Georgia Street to the south end of Burrard Street Bridge.

Folks this is just a sign of things to come when Cornwall / Point Grey Road is closed to vehicle traffic.

This is all courtesy of the Vancouver Municipal Party "Blurred Vision Vancouver"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I predict that there will not be one "Double Vision - Blurred Vision" Mayor or Councilor elected in the next Municipal Election.

And don't forget folks the best is yet to come -----

The Dismantling of the Georgia Street and Dunsmuir Street Overpasses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes - The Best is Yet to Come

Save Vancouver
I wonder how many greenhouse gases were released thanks to idling cars caught up in Gregor's latest pet project?

I was downtown this weekend and noticed something. Condos keep going up. Which means the population will keep going up. What I didn't notice - infrastructure improvements. something else I noticed - traffic lanes and parking spaces keep disappearing so we can get new bike lanes. Traffic backed up on almost every street. What I didn't notice --ANYONE using the bike lanes. This city is doomed thanks to Mayor Clueless. And these idiots want to tear down The Georgia street viaduct so they can build more condos and dump 40,000 cars a day into Yaletown.
