      Maddog Studios Open Mic Stand Up Comedy Wednesday in Deep South

      When and where: October 7 at 9 p.m. at Deep South Public House 
      What to expect: Special guests have been invited so watch out—who knows what stars will show up? Bring yourself and your friends and try something new in life: making people laugh, five minutes at a time.

      When and where: October 6 to 7 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Astoria Pub.
      What to expect: It's a thing where your host Emma brings huge blankets to the Astoria and we all build a sweet fort together. A thing where we get in said fort and comedians and humans tell stories and jokes. It's pretty great. You are welcome to wear your jammies. We've seen a cow print onesie grace our fort.

      What to expect: Ladies! Comedy! More ladies! Also, comedy! Sketch, stand-up, monologues, theatre-y business, nonsense, and more. This month featuring the talents of Erica Dawn Sigurdson, Fatima Dhowre, Katie-Ellen Humphries, Kathryn Kirkpatrick, Morgan Brayton, and Robyn Daye Edwards.

      What to expect: John Cullen is the rare comedian that you watch and he's having so much fun on stage that you can't decide whether he's having more fun or you are. A charismatic performer and a modern-day renaissance man, John brings his vast experiences in life as a curler, high school teacher, drummer, and friend to the stage in an attempt to make sure that everybody has the best time. Because really, that's what comedy is all about.
