Ming Sun Benevolent Society hosted city councillors at a benefit

The City of Vancouver has been in a war of news releases with the Ming Sun Benevolent Society over the past week.

It concerns the flooding of the society's building at 439 Powell Street—as well as over who is responsible for damage to the exterior cladding.

On occasion, Coun. Kerry Jang has spoken on behalf of the city.

The chief spokesperson for Ming Sun has been architect David Wong.

But back in 2011, Jang and Wong were on very good terms.

They even posed for a photo together at an 86th annual fundraising dinner for the society at Floata Seafood Restaurant, along with Coun. Andrea Reimer and former federal NDP candidate Meena Wong.
