Legendary rocker Randy Bachman calls it his favourite Christmas party in Vancouver.

The 28th anniversary of Blues for Christmas Marathon takes place this year at Vancouver FanClub (1050 Granville Street) on Sunday (December 22) with doors opening for the afternoon show at 1 p.m. (Music begins an hour later.)

The Blues For Christmas Marathon features two shows this year, showcasing some younger blues artists with a very bright future ahead of them.

The afternoon performers include Dalannah Gail Bowen, Jason Buie, Gary Comeau & Tim Hearsey, Kathy Frank, Steve Kozak, Willie McCalder, James "Buddy" Rogers, and Whitefeather.

The doors open for the evening show at 7 p.m., with music starting at 8 p.m.

That's when you'll hear Big City Soul, Chaplyn, David "Boxcar" Gates, Hell's Gate Blues Band, and Incognito with Alita Dupray and Nadine States.

The two shows will raise money and food for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.

Tickets are $15 in advance (with a $3.75 service fee) or $22 at the door.
