With Halloween fast approaching, it's time to get your fear on, people.

Here's a list of five recommended horror flicks currently streaming on Netflix Canada. And five more that suck the biggie.

      It Follows (2015)

"Every once in a while a low-budget indie fright flick comes along that makes everything on the major studios’ horror plate look like a pile of steaming crap.It Followsis that film, right now."

      Evil Dead (2013)

"The main goal of director-cowriter Fede Alvarez is clearly to take every violent scene in the original and ramp the gore level up to 11, and to his credit—and that of his makeup-FX team—he achieves that end."

      Berberian Sound Studio (2013)

"With his wimpy, sad-sack face and sheepish, mama’s-boy persona, Toby Jones is not your typical leading man. But he sure was the right choice to top-line this stylishly creepy psycho thriller that pays homage to the Italian horror scene of the ’70s."

      Creep (2015)

"Duplass's whacked-out performance keeps you fairly riveted to the screen, wondering what crazy shit Josef's gonna pull next—and how the tormented Aaron will respond. It's one of the most memorable sicko roles I've seen in a while."

      The Call (2013)

"One of the first movies to freak me out as a kid wasThe Haunting, a 1963 fright flick about a group of paranormal investigators studying an ominous mansion. Robert Wise’s black-and-white ghost story is a masterful study in less-is-more horror, where the fear comes mostly from what you don’t see."

Now here's the five you really don't want to see:

The House at the End of the Street (2012)

"...a clunky, run-of-the-mill horror flick written by the same guy who penned last year’s similarly themed disappointment,Dream House."

      The Messengers (2007)

"As if hell’s sewer were backing up, gooey, brown muck starts oozing through the floorboards and all she does is stand there while it roils around her feet. Never in my life have I so fervently wanted to yell, “It’s poo, ya fucking moron, run!”"

      Poltergiest (2015)

"The writing isn't much to scream about either, as the miscast Sam Rockwell's sad-sack quips get tiresome pretty quick, and his beleaguered dad seems fake. Jared Harris's role as a corny reality TV ghost-hunter/exorcist sinks the film deeper and deeper into lameassness."

      Insidious Chapter II (2013)

"It starts off lousy and goes downhill from there. I hereby pronounce it the worst horror flick of 2013. Next to Scary Movie 5, that is."

      Deliver Us From Evil (2014)

"The movie poster declares INSPIRED BY THE ACTUAL ACCOUNTS OF AN NYPD SERGEANT, as if that's supposed to impress anyone."
