From October 29 to 31, 8 pm, Belgian-Dutch choreographer Jan Martens brings The Dog Days Are Over to the Scotiabank Dance Centre (677 Davie).

As part of its Global Dance Connections series, the Dance Centre presents the performance that sees eight dancers bounce and leap through choreographic patterns of geometrical precision.

In combining humour and the physical, The Dog Days Are Over seeks to prompt debate on the role of contemporary dance and the line between art and entertainment.

The work has toured all over Europe and South Africa and travels to Canada and the U.S. in the fall.

Tickets for The Dog Days Are Over are $30 and $22 and are available online in advance.
