Zynga accepts Bitcoin payments for FarmVille 2 and other games

Critics say Bitcoin is a bubble waiting to burst, but fans of the digital currency have two reasons to celebrate today (January 6).

Firstly, the price of Bitcoin crossed US$1,000 again after taking a plunge in December following a record high of $1,238 on the Mt.Gox exchange. Secondly, the social game company Zynga announced over the weekend that it is testing Bitcoin as a payment method for seven of its online games.

In a post on Reddit, Zynga said:

In response to Bitcoin’s rise in popularity around the world, Zynga, with help from BitPay, is testing expanded payment options for players to make in-game purchases using Bitcoin. The Bitcoin test is only available to Zynga.com players playing FarmVille 2, CastleVille, ChefVille, CoasterVille, Hidden Chronicles, Hidden Shadows and CityVille.

The adoption of Bitcoin seemingly generates headlines on a weekly basis, with restaurants, a university, and even a cookie stand run by kids taking the currency. In Vancouver, the world's first Bitcoin ATM went live on October 29, 2013, at Waves Coffee House (100-900 Howe Street).

      IMHO

In my experience people generally don't really understand the basics of bitcoin.

For everybody who want to practice with bitcoin, at the following website you can receive free bitcoins:

      http://freebitco.in/?r=202775

All you have to to is fill out your bitcoinadress and create a password, there is no registration procedure. You receive free bitcoins every hour in some sort of lottery (up to +- 0.2 btc!). They really pay out. The fun part is that you can use your winnings to play higher/lower to win additional coins.
