      The inaugural Vancouver Italian Film Festival will take place at Vancity Theatre (1181 Seymour Street) from January 10 to 16. The festival is presented by The Italian Cultural Centre, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Vancouver, and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada.

      The festival will include five canonical classics and five modern films, as well as an exhibition of drawings by Frederico Fellini, music, Italian food, and wine.

      The Vancouver Italian Film Festival will open with a screening of Fellini’s 1973 comedy Amarcord.

      The film includes a series of vignettes set in a small Italian coastal town during the 1930s. Other films featured this year are Emanuele Crialese’s Terraferma, John Turturro’s Passione, Vittorio De Sica’s Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow, Ricardo Milani’s Mr. Volare, Luchino Visconti’s Senso, Roberto Rossellini’s The Flowers of St. Francis, Paolo Genovese’s A Perfect Family, Elio Petri’s Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion, and Edoardo Gabbriellini’s The Landlords.

      Tickets to individual films or Little Italy Ticket Packs can be purchased online or at the Vancity Theatre box office.
