      FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23

      Gorgeous: the Felions (above) will show their stuff as the B.C. Lions take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Canadian Football League action at B.C. Place Stadium.

      Glorious: Ontario rock group the Glorious Sons plays Venue, with guests Northcote and Poor Young Things.

      Guitars: Chase Padgett blends music and comedy at the Shadbolt Centre in 6 Guitars (above) as he becomes six different guitar players performing blues, jazz, rock, classical, folk and country music.

      Greg: Port Moody folk-rock singer-songwriter Greg Drummond plays the Fox Cabaret, with guests the Wild Romantics.

      Glam: mock hair-metal band Steel Panther (above) plays the first of two nights at Hard Rock Casino Vancouver, performing on its All You Can Eat tour.

      Gore: the Andean Horror Film Fest at the SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts celebrates fantasy, horror, and folklore films produced in the Peruvian Andes.

      Guffahs: comedian Dan St. Germain (above) performs the first of two nights of standup at Yuk Yuk's Comedy Club.

      SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24

      Dune: Australian rock trio Dune Rats (above) plays the Cobalt, touring in support of debut self-titled release.

      Delta: American folk-rock band Delta Rae plays the Biltmore Cabaret, touring in support of second full-length album After It All.

      Doobie: the Eden Medicinal Society presents its first annual medicinal cannabis competition at the Imperial, featuring performances by Snoop Dogg, Chin Injeti and the Lifetimes, and Sailor Gerry.

      Dar: the Rogue Folk Club presents American singer-songwriter Dar Williams (above) at St. James Hall, touring in support of her new album Emerald.

      Dance: Karen Flamenco presents a version of Bizet's classic opera Carmen at the Vancouver Playhouse.

      Diamonds: the Georgia Straight presents Welsh indie-pop singer-songwriter Marina and the Diamonds (above) at the Commodore, with guests Christine and the Queen. SOLD OUT.

      Dungeon: BDSM fetish play party at the Korean Community Centre features a BDSM sampler hour, tricks and treats, door prizes, and professional souvenir photographs.

      Detroit: the Vancouver Canucks take on the Detroit Red Wings (above) in National Hockey League action at Rogers Arena.

      Drive-in: Fresh Air Cinema presents outdoor screenings of Hocus Pocus and The Thing at River District Vancouver.

      Distinguished: Spanish flamenco guitarist Paco Pena (above) brings together a distinguished ensemble of guitarists, singers, and dancers at Chan Shun Concert Hall.

      SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25

      Florence: the Georgia Straight presents English indie-rock band Florence + the Machine (above) at Rogers Arena, with guests the Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger.

      Folkie: Canadian country-folk singer-songwriter Murray McLauchlan performs with his trio at North Van's Centennial Theatre.

      Foote: children's entertainer Norman Foote and the Very Scary Big Voice Orchestra (above) present a family-friendly Halloween show at Coquitlam's Evergreen Cultural Centre.

      Feet: As part of the Dance Allsorts series, Modus Operandi performs a mixed program of contemporary dance at Roundhouse Community Centre.

      Fear: Fright Nights at Playland (above) features seven haunted houses, 15 fear-inducing rides, and the Radiant Heat Fire Troupe.

      Fun: autumn fair at Kits Neighbourhood House features a pancake breakfast, music and art, a pumpkin patch, a farmers market, and a costume contest.
