You don't have to understand Japanese to understand this Shiseido commercial—or to understand why it's gone viral.

The video, entitled "High School Girl?—The Makeup Secrets of High School Girls", features a classroom full of Japanese schoolgirls.

Watch it for yourself and see what you notice.

For those who can't read Japanese, the camera zooms into a page in a book that says in Japanese "Did you notice the boys in the classroom?".

There's also a video chronicling the making of the commercial that reveals the process of transforming the models and shows how they created their looks.

In other Japanese LGBT news, Fuji TV is launching its first lesbian drama series, entitled "Transit Girls".

The show, which debuts on November 7, follows the story of two girls who become stepsisters when their parents remarry. However, the two girls fall in love with each other. It will be Japan's first mainstream TV show about a female same-sex romance.
