What happens when two semi-trailers, one loaded with wine and the other with pulp, collide?

The answer was seen on Highway 1, west of Hope, on Wednesday night (January 8).

According to an RCMP news release, the highway was closed for over 10 hours to clean up the booze-soaked mess.

      Here's what police say happened:

The investigation reveals that a 30-year-old Abbotsford male was operating a Kenworth semi-trailer loaded with wine, headed eastbound on Highway #1 when he lost control of the vehicle and drove through the center median of the highway. His vehicle continued to cross over the westbound lanes when it was struck broadside by a Freightliner semi-trailer loaded with pulp and driven by a 57-year-old male from Delta.

Neither driver was injured, but the one at the wheel of the wine truck has been charged with driving without due care and attention.
