Driving in downtown Vancouver and to the Lions Gate Bridge could be frustrating this weekend. That's because the city plans to carry out road work on part of West Georgia Street.

Here's an excerpt from the city's information bulletin:

Motorists and other road users should plan ahead this weekend to avoid delays as City crews upgrade aging water pipes along the 1300-1400 block of West Georgia.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 7 am and 8 pm on Saturday, January 11. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction outside of these hours. If the excavation work is not complete by Saturday, it will resume Sunday at 10 am.
