Quentin Tarantino seeks Bruce Dern?

According to Deadline.com, Bruce Dern is the guy Quentin Tarantino has in mind for his next film, The Hateful Eight.

The 77-year-old actor is on a role after his starring turn in Alexander Payne's Nebraska, although he's never been short on work. A cameo in Tarantino's Django Unchained is one of his more recent credits

Dern is certainly the kind of guy who would end up in a QT movie.

In the '60s—before going all respectable—he was the house weirdo in Roger Corman efforts like The Wild Angels, The Trip, and Bloody Mama. And he was unforgettable as the Jesus-freak sculptor "The Seeker" in the 1968 drugsploitation classic, Psych-Out.

Here's Tarantino explaining what a "Dernsy" is at an AFI tribute last November.

And he ruled so hard in 'The 'Burbs'!

So hard! And his nutty hosting job on that Lost Drive-in show was pretty great.

I regularly watch the old black and white Hitchcock TV show from the 60's and Dern was on one of the episodes I recently watched. The episode was about a Peeping Tom and a younger housewife, and, of course, with Hitchcock there was more to to it, but Dern played the Peeping Tom and was great. Honestly, they don't make shows and movies like they used to!
