The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors Carminho and Sara Tavares

On November 21, 8 pm, Carminho and Sara Tavares take the stage at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts (6265 Crescent Road, UBC).

Fado songstress Carminho and vocalist-guitarist Sara Tavares will celebrate the diversity of Portuguese/Lusophone music with a program that blends each of the artists' signature styles.

Of the program, Chan Centre comanaging director Joyce Hinton says that it takes inspiration from the artists' home country of Portugal, which sees "artistic influences from around the world integrate with the country's rich local traditions."

Prior to the performance, there will be a pre-show chat at 7 pm at the Chan Centre's Royal Bank Cinema.
