3:01 Pick Me Up: Slowdive
Let’s face it: 3 p.m. is the cruellest time of the workday. The morning latte has worn off, and the post-lunch crash has you staggering around like an extra from a George A. Romero flick. That’s why, each weekday at 3:01 p.m., we present you with a video hand-picked to kick-start your heart.
Well, it's official: Slowdive is back. Twenty years or so after disbanding, the Reading shoegaze group has decided to toss all credibility aside and cash in on '90s nostalgia. I kid, I kid! Actually, this is awesome news for anyone who has ever blissed out to Souvlaki or Just for a Day and wished they could experience the real thing live.
So far, only two concerts are on the calendar, both in May: one at Barcelona's Primavera Sound festival, and one at the Village Underground in London. Possibly even more exciting is talk of a new album.
In the meantime, here's something old. Once again I'm stretching the concept of "pick-me-up", but sometimes you just gots to chill.
