This evening at 7:30 p.m., Vancouver residents will gather outside the Vancouver Art Gallery to pay respects to victims of the Paris attacks.

But already, a makeshift memorial has been created outside the French consulate at 1130 West Pender Street in Vancouver.

The spontaneous outpouring came after 129 people were killed and 350 were injured in a series of coordinated attacks in the French capital on Friday (November 13).

More than 80 of the deaths occurred at the Bataclan concert hall in the 11th arondissement.

Vancouver International Airport has paid tribute to the victims of the Paris attacks by covering its tower with the colours of the French flag.

Canada Place, which is on Vancouver's waterfront, has also joined in the outpouring. Its sails are being lit in blue, white, and red from Saturday night through Monday night to coincide with the three days of mourning called by the French government.

B.C. Place Stadium is another building showing the colours of the French flag.
