The Winter Olympics opening ceremony won't happen until tomorrow, but already, some preliminary results are in.

Canadian Maxence Parrot won the qualifying round in the men's slopestyle, with another Canadian, Sebastien Toutant, coming third.

This means they'll advance to the final round.

Meanwhile, one of Canada's top medal hopefuls, men's slopestyle star Mark McMorris, fell on his first run, which drove his score down to 29.5.

The X Games superstar fared far better on his second outing, but was disappointed with the judges' score, leaving him seventh in his heat.

McMorris, son of Saskatchewan MLA Don McMorris, still has a chance to make the final on Saturday (February 8).
