This afternoon at 3:30, there will be a candlelight vigil in Vancouver to honour terrorism victims around the world.

It's being called "United With Humanity" and will take place on the south side of the Vancouver Art Gallery.

"In light of recent events, we would like to remember those who were murdered in various acts of terror," the organizers said in an email to the Straight. "These lives were taken away at the hands of extremists and terrorists who have no value for human life. They are hungry for power and willing to torture and mercilessly kill anyone just to attain it.  We are shaken now more than ever before because of the multitude of attacks that occurred in various areas of the world, in the small time frame of a day. The Paris attacks were the first of its kind, and the world was stunned to hear about them. But less than 24 hours before the Paris attacks, Beirut was rocked by two suicide bombings."

Since then, there has also been an attack on guests at the Radisson Hotel in Bamako, Mali.
