Vancouver Canucks captain Henrik Sedin drops out of Winter Olympics

Henrik Sedin has pulled out of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. The Vancouver Canucks captain, who was slated to play for Sweden, will miss the Olympics due to an ongoing rib injury, according to Sportsnet.

The 33-year-old forward has missed six Canucks games following an injury sustained during the January 16 matchup against the Phoenix Coyotes.

Sedin’s twin brother, Daniel Sedin, is still expected to play on Sweden’s men’s hockey team during the 2014 Olympic Games.
