Coquitlam's Kevin Reynolds landed three quads, helping Canada win silver in the new Olympic team figure skating event.

Filling in for world champion Patrick Chan, Reynolds came second in the men's free skate after Russia's Evgeni Plushenko.

It was one of five second-place finishes for Canada in the eight skating events.

Russia, which posted five first-place finishes, won gold with 75 points, followed by Canada at 65, and the U.S. at 60.
