Jay Z doesn't pop molly and neither do you; that was probably meth

Ecstasy, MDMA, E—whatever you want to call it, it’s probably not what you dropped at the Miley show last Friday (February 14).

According to a February 10 report by Drug Science Policy & Law, Health Canada found that only three percent of so-called ecstasy tablets seized by authorities in 2007 were actually made up of pure MDMA (the chemical compound for which the street name ecstasy actually applies).

      That’s down from 69 percent in 2001.

These findings are somewhat ironic given the rise of “molly” over the past few years.

Molly is essentially ecstasy rebranded with a new name that rappers found was easier to rhyme. Through the ‘00s, kids figured out that the ecstasy they were buying was mostly pressed meth, so dealers started offering ravers “molly” with the sales pitch that it was pure MDMA.

What the study by DSPL highlights is that the pills with the little smiley faces on them are actually more diluted with crap today than ever before. Essentially, there is no molly in Canada, at least in the form that the name promises.

On a more serious note, the implications of Canada’s ecstasy drought doesn’t mean that today’s youth have stopped taking pills; just that they usually don’t know what they’re popping. Which is of course dangerous, to the point of occasionally being deadly.

“One such common stimulant [sold as MDMA] is para-methoxymethamphetamine (PMMA), which has been associated with several recent deaths in Canada and is a confirmed contaminant found in some ecstasy pills,” the DSPL report states. “These tablets or pills are associated with many more toxic events.”

According to statistics kept by the B.C. Coroners Service, ecstasy-related deaths in the province climbed from seven in 2006 to a high of 23 in 2008, before dropping back down to 11 in 2012.

That's why you don't buy from roided up, tattooed, track suit wearing douche bags with white sunglasses. You go to the hippy dude that sends his out for independent testing to verify exactly what is in it, because he actually cares, lol.

Lies lies and more lies. If you buy off the street from some sketched out urchin then yes, you may get nasty shit like PMMA, so buy a testing kit they are only $10-20 I used to mail order mine from the UK or dancesafe in Washington. If you know anybody at all in the mid level trade then you can buy plenty of near pure crystalline powdered MDMA to press your own pills with. You can also easily further purify the product with acetone washes into pure crystal MDMA.

Nobody is putting meth into pills. Meth is $100/g or $10 per point on the street no way are they going to waste expensive meth that is in very, very high demand in it's original form by peddling it as inferior and cheaper "molly" pills. More likely you will get pipes, (piperazines) and other junk from China being passed off as mdma.

If you want to prevent deaths, then get testing kits into the hands of these dumb kids taking multiple pills from street dealers all at once and ODing. That's what they did in Spain and Netherlands after a rash of PMMA deaths and guess what? No more deaths. Cops trying to scare kids doesn't work, they're GOING TO DO IT ANYWAYS NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY.

Also, I once mailed to a lab a moisture barrier bag sealed shipment of various pills I bought on Granville St during a long weekend to see what the quality was, this was back in 2009. Anyways a professional lab in Spain did a full report on each one, they were all basically as advertised, no BZP/piperazines, no meth, no PMMA. The lab tests in Barcelona and Amsterdam are free and if you know somebody there they can anonymously drop them off to get tested. I decided not to take the rest, bought powder instead, tested it myself and then capped my own pills. I'm not a trafficker, this was all for personal use because I wanted to make sure I was taking clean product because I believed the cops lies.

Bottom line is, people are going to take drugs whether they are legal or not. Prohibition in the 1920s did not work - folks still got their alcohol. If these substances such as MDMA were legalized, and regulated, then people would be able to make better informed choices into what they are ingesting. Also, it would cut down on the importation of drugs in countries where people literally get slaughtered in the business side of it. Remember, alcohol related deaths are the highest and this is a legal substance despite the information out there on alcoholism and drinking and driving. But at least people are informed about the possible consequences of their actions. Ingesting unknown pills is just too dangerous without the known risks. Legalization and regulation are crucial steps at this stage. It doesn't mean that accidents and deaths will be completely eliminated but at least there was an informed decision involved based on correct health and safety information.

Put so much pressure on the growers of BC marijuana the kids have moved on to what are more dangerous drugs other then smoking a little pot. I grew up in the early 1970's and did more then my share of drugs back then. Mostly LSD, Mescaline and smoked an awful lot of pot! MDA was also very common yet not the popular drug that it is now. Might be that LSD and hallucinogenic drugs back in the 60's and 70's were for a generation that was more in the mood for opening new doors of perception to search for some greater purpose. Where as today's generation are looking for something more inward as a search, to go inward into the safety of their own shell In the 70's I found MDA or MMDA as it's called now more of an inward stone of self gratification. Not really what the mind set of that era for most of us. I won't knock it I don't understand it. I haven't done drugs for many years the hallucinogenics of my past youth open up enough windows for me and there did indeed came a time in my life I no longer had the need to use them. As for the generation now selling drugs the profit motive and to be the big gangsta in town is the hitch. They all want the materialism of the day. Which makes for a dangerous mix. A youth culture today in my view is consumed only by selfishness and materialism. Who knows what sort of chemical mixtures of shit that could be sold on the street. Oh well I guess I'm just an old hippy these days and as confused about youth culture now as my parents where in my youth. However youth should be educated about drug, not told lies by police and educators like back in my day. They need to be aware that changing ones reality can be both rewarding and sometime fatal. Just as other things in life both good and bad are sides of the coin!

You learn the difference real, real fast when you have had one, and then have the other expecting a similar experience

      Lear this:

ECSTASY = comes in tablet form, SHOULD contain MDMA, is usually cut/coupled with other chemicals (caffeine, speed etc.) High safety risk since it's PROCESSED and could contain undesired chemicals.

MDMA = METHYLENEDIOXYMETHAMPHETAMINE (sought after ingredient IN a an ECSTASY TABLET, comes in powder form). Lower safety risk since IF REAL, is in its natural UNPROCESSED form; MDMA is generally safe IF IT ISN'T ABUSED.

      The more you know....
