The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors Porno Death Cult

Vancouver dancer and choreographer Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg’s new solo work, Porno Death Cult, makes its world premiere at the Firehall Arts Centre (280 East Cordova Street) from March 5 to 8.

Following the success of 2013’s Highgate, a morbid romp through Victorian funerary culture, Porno Death Cult tackles similarly dark-comedy terrain, exploring faith and faithlessness, life and death. In this piece, a woman, a preacher, and a god come face-to-face with each other.

Porno Death Cult brings together the talents of director Marcus Youssef, visual artist Mickey Meads, costume designer Alice Mansell, composer Marc Stewart, lighting by James Proudfoot, as well as Justine A. Chambers, Susan Elliot, and Kim Stevenson.
