Commercial Drive mural defaced by “No pipelines” graffiti gets new look

Three weeks ago, I wrote about "No pipelines" graffitti defacing murals on Commercial Drive. I included a photograph of the mural at Commercial Drive and East 5th Avenue.

That's the mural reminiscent of the cover of the Nirvana album Nevermind. A lot of people, via comments and social media, expressed outrage at the graffiti.

Anyways, I happened to walk by that intersection on Sunday (March 16), and was surprised to see that the mural had be redone. The "No pipelines" text is gone and so are the swimmers. But the blue background remains much the same.

What do you think of the new look?
