Upcoming comic to feature the death of Archie

Known for his perpetual inability to choose between good girl Betty and bad girl Veronica, Riverdale's favourite orange-haired Lothario will  meet his maker in an upcoming issue of the comic-book series Life With Archie.

Although not much is known about Archie's upcoming demise, in a statement Archie Comics publisher and co-CEO Jon Goldwater said that "It’s the biggest story we’ve ever done, and we’re supremely proud of it.”

This isn't the only major Archie development to come up in recent years. In 2010, Archie Comics introduced its first openly gay character, Kevin Keller. Subsequent issues in the Kevin Keller story arc included the character's gay, interracial marriage

This doesn't mean Archie is gone forever, though, as Life With Archie is only one of several series that deal with his adventures. A follow-up issue of Life With Archie will examine how Riverdale copes with his absence.

      Pretty desperate marketing.
How could they have resisted the title "Death With Archie"?
They would probably have sold an extra million or so.

I bet it was Moose. I never liked or trusted that knucklehead.

With Archie gone as their beard, will Betty and Veronica move in together?

My money is on Archie saving Jughead from a rampaging school shooter. It's a theme that fits well in today's America.
