The Huffington Post Canada recently announced a list of the 20 best bakeries in the country and four shops in Vancouver have made the cut.

Three bakeries are located in East Vancouver: Bakery Sate, known for its buttery, all-natural selection of croissants that range from chocolate and almond to pretzel-bacon and matcha; East Village Bakery, an artisanal shop situated in the Hastings-Sunrise area that makes to-die-for vegan and gluten-free treats; and Swiss Bakery, producers of traditional German pretzels and the city’s first-ever frissant—a take on the wildly popular cronut.

The Whistler-based Purebread received a nod for its more recent Gastown location, which offers scrumptious carbs like hazelnut-fig, sour-cherry-chocolate, and asiago-black-pepper breads.

True Grain Bread—known for its organic baked goods in Cowichan, B.C.—also made the list.
