Sometimes if you wanna see old white guys rockin' out, you gotta go the extra mile.

      Or a few miles.

A number of legendary rockers have recently announced North American tours, but unfortunately for Canadian fans, the jaunts are more American than North.

Here's some major gigs that are booked for Seattle, but--at this point, anyway--not up here.

Everybody's favourite punk-rock relic, Iggy Pop, plays the Paramount Theatre on March 28, and he's got Josh Homme in his band, so there ya go. Tickets go on sale soon.

Billy Joel, who's probably sick of being called "the Piano Man", is at the home of the Mariners, Safeco Field, on May 20. Tix for the "Uptown Guy" go on sale Feb. 5.

Two guys who I liked best when they were in Genesis and the Police, Peter Gabriel & Sting, coheadline the Key Arena on July 21. Their tour is being officially billed as Sting & Peter Gabriel, but homey don't play that. Tickets go on sale Feb. 1.

And the old white guy I most wanted to come up to Vancouver, Warren Haynes, is at the Moore Theatre on March 28, with tix going on sale soon.

Okay, so I lied. He's not that old. Younger than me, actually.

And he sure plays fine guitar for a whippersnapper:
