The 33-year-old pride of Smithers, Dan Hamhuis, is expected to be back in the Canucks lineup tonight against a divisional rival, the Calgary Flames.

Hamhuis has been on the sidelines since he was hit in the face by a puck on December 9.

The Hammer, as he's sometimes referred to, suffered a broken jaw and required some facial reconstruction from a slap shot from Rangers defenceman Dan Boyle.

With Hamhuis's return, the Canucks have sent defenceman Yannick Weber to the Utica Comets.

The Canucks are in fifth place in the Pacific Division with 52 points in 51 games. The Flames are in sixth spot with 47 points in 50 games.

Tonight's game at Rogers Arena will be televised on Hockey Night in Canada.
