      CONCERTS

      American rapper Sporting Life tours in support of solo debut 55 5's, with guests Evy Jane and Wsuptiger, at the Fortune Sound Club.

      BTU, composed of Barney Bentall, Tom Taylor, and Shari Ulrich, launches latest folk release Tightrope Walk. Held at the Cultch.

      Canadian indie trio Belle Starr, composed of Stephanie Cadman, Kendel Carson, and Miranda Mulholland, performs at the Evergreen Cultural Centre.

      Local percussionist Sal Ferreras and his band Drum Heat perform drum traditions from Latin America, Brazil, Cuba, and India. Held at the Surrey Arts Centre.

      Vancouver-based David Bowie tribute band Moonage Daydream, with Rock'n'Roll Circus and Runnin' Down a Dream, hits the Fairview Pub.

      Vancouver soul-jazz vocalist Dawn Pemberton coheadlines with New York City-born blues-soul vocalist-guitarist Cécile Doo-Kingué. Held at the Fox Cabaret.

      Highlights of the Wellness Show include an organic market, an interactive green scene, a workshop stage,  and a kids' activity area. Held at the Vancouver Convention Centre East.

      Options for Sexual Health presents a Sexual and Reproductive Health Day breakfast featuring author and performance artist Amber Dawn. Held at the Marriott Pinnacle Hotel.

      Speed-dating event cinnamon hearts & fireball includes door prizes, drinks, light snacks, and comedy. Held at the Pipe Shop.

       

      FOOD AND DRINK

      At the Beaty Biodiversity Museum, you can bake and decorate a cake in an evolution or ecology theme to celebrate Charles Darwin’s birthday.

      Zend Conscious Lounge hosts a plant-based evening that features music by DJ Kalibo and dessert bites.

      Sue Hughson from Dying with Dignity Canada will discuss how people can prepare their Advance Care Plans. Held at the West Vancouver Memorial Library.

      The Vancouver Giants take on the Kamloops Blazers in Western Hockey League action. Held at the Pacific Coliseum.

      DANCE

      In celebration of Black History Month, New Works presents Troy McLaughlin's I Have a Dream at the Orpheum Annex.

      Flamenkito a Compas! Third Edition features performances by Gareth Owen, Stephanie Pedraza, Michelle Harding, and Davide Sampaolo. Held at Seven Dining Lounge.

       

      MUSIC

      The Chopin Society presents Hungarian pianist Dénes Várjon at the Vancouver Playhouse Recital Hall.

      The West Coast Symphony performs works by Verdi, Tchaikovsky, and Prokofiev at Performance Works.

      The UBC Symphonic Wind Ensemble performs works by Hylkilä, Colgrass, Stark, and MacKey. Held at the Chan Shun Concert Hall.

      The Vancouver Chamber Choir presents an a cappella program that traces choral repertoire back to the Gregorian chant. Held at Ryerson United Church.

       

      THEATRE

      Fourplay features a series of one-act plays by current students and graduates. Held at Studio 58.

       

      MOVIES

      Ben Blaine and Chris Blaine's film Nina Forever sees a man become involved in an unusual menage-a-trois. Screened at the Vancity Theatre.

      The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival runs at the Centennial Theatre, the Cinematheque, the Rio Theatre, and the Inlet Theatre.

      The Rio Theatre screens Casablanca, the 1942 black-and-white drama starring Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart.

      Vancouver Communities in Solidarity with Cuba presents a Cuban film and cultural night at Joe's Cafe.
