The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra's House of Dreams

On March 4, 7:30 pm, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra's House of Dreams hits the Vancouver Playhouse (600 Hamilton).

Presented by Early Music Vancouver, the concert melds works by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, and Marais with projections of paintings by Vermeer, Canaletto, and Watteau.

Designed by Alison Mackay for Canadian classical ensemble Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, the immersive, multimedia performance will take the audience on a journey back in time to 17th- and 18th-century European homes.

Early Music Vancouver artistic director Matthew White says that "by seeing the very homes in which these works might have been (and in some cases, certainly were) performed-we gain new appreciation for the texture and context of their creation."
