Pemberton Music Festival has expanded to include two days of additional performances leading up to the July 18-20 event.

On Wednesday, July 16 starting at 4:30 p.m., Gord Downie, the Sadies, Matt Mays, and Dan Deacon will perform at Whistler Olympic Plaza. The event will be free and open to the public.

On Thursday, July 17, at the festival site, the four acts will join other artists for more than six hours of performances, which will be open to ticket holders.

Festival organizers are encouraging campers to take advantage of early access to the event site. The campground will open at 2 p.m. on July 16, and free shuttles will be offered between the festival site and Whistler that day.

Campers will also have access to outdoor excursions from the festival site on July 17.

More artists are expected to be added to the lineup soon. The bill already features acts including Nine Inch Nails, Outkast, Deadmau5, Soundgarden, Modest Mouse, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Blondie, and Violent Femmes.

Full details on the lineup and tickets are available at www.pembertonmusicfestival.com.

So does Gord Downie get to play tragically hip tracks?

Heard through the grapevine that Bryan Adams and Dan Mangan will be added to the lineup. Guess we will see. Huka needs to do something to sell this out.

@pemby founder: he can play whatever he wants.

I really want to see Portugal. The Man added! They're available (at least not playing around then) and cheap (if that recent bookings price list is to be trusted).
