Pemberton Music Festival announces additional acts, reveals daily lineups

Start planning your Pemberton long weekend because the schedule for the July 16-20 festival is out.

But we’ll get to that in one moment. First, a few additional acts that were also revealed today by HUKA Entertainment.

Justice is bringing a DJ set to the closing night of the Pemberton Music Festival.

Topping up a lineup already exceptionally strong on hip-hop is Chance the Rapper, who will be taking the stage Saturday.

Vancouver’s own indie soul troop the Boom Booms are scheduled for Thursday evening.

And adding a few laughs to Sunday’s festivities is comedian Jay Pharaoh.

Other additional acts revealed today (June 11) include Randy Newman, Rebolution, Lindsey Stirling, Minus the Bear, Foxyygen, Tritonal, Araabmuzik, 3LAU, Cashmere Cat, Treasure Fingers, Break Science, The Madd Wikkid, and Nostalgia.

Now the schedule for the festival, which has grown over the last few months to five-day event beginning on Wednesday, July 16.

Headlining Friday, July 18, is Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden. Those bands will be preceded by Kendrick Lamar. Also playing the first full night of the festival is Above & Beyond, Empire of the Sun, Grimes, Blondie, Cage the Elephant, Schoolboy Q, and Tyler the Creator.

Big night number two is headlined by Deadmau5, with Metric and Snoop Dog preceding EDM’s favourite mouse. Plus the Flaming Lips, Young the Giant, Girl Talk, TV on the Radio, Violent Femmes, Chance the Rapper, and comedy by Bob Saget.

Last up on the main stage Sunday is Outkast. The Atlanta duo will be joined on closing night by Frank Ocean and Modest Mouse. Justice will be there with a DJ set. Not to mention St. Vincent, Baauer, Matthew Good, Randy Newman, Rebelution, Lindsey Sterling, Sloan, Fucked Up, Gold & Youth. Sunday laughs will be provided by the trailer Park Boys and Jay Pharaoh.
