Seth Rogen and James Franco continue to explore in The Interview trailer

The trailer for Seth Rogen and Evan Golderg’s latest The Interview hit the Internet yesterday and promptly brought in a quarter of a million views on YouTube.

“Looks promising… they pretty much sold me on anything they do,” reads the first comment posted by satisfied-looking Internet-user Omar Correa, neatly summing up what the other 247,144 of us are thinking.

Of course, we Vancouverites are especially eager to see our hometown turned into North Korea for the locally shot flick, in which the duo are recruited by the CIA to assassinate Kim Jong Un.

Others still will fold these one-and-a-half minutes into the ongoing project of Decoding Rogen. After flirting rather heavily with James Franco-based homoerotica in recent months, the happily married superstar is declaring “I love you” to the world’s handsomest man yet again in the clip’s funniest moment.

Part of Rogen’s appeal is this ongoing deconstruction of male friendship.

Some might see at as sophomoric; I think it’s a little more subversive than that. Rogen has been deflating machismo for his entire career, presenting us with a sensitive oaf who, as the Straight's Janet Smith pointed out in her recent review of Neighbours, has the kind of untapped sex appeal that half the women in his audience are responding to.

More to the point—and as anybody knows who ever made out on the beach with another naked dude one drunk weekend on Galiano Island back in the '90s—there’s nothing hotter than two straight guys exploring the porous boundaries of their sexuality and emotions while our girlfriends watched.

      Or so I imagine.

      Anyway, enjoy:
