Vancouver's Ryan Steele and Rob Goddard to compete on Amazing Race Canada

The Amazing Race Canada just got a whole lot funnier. And a little bit queer.

Vancouverites might recognize two familiar faces and names in season 2 of the Canadian reality TV competition.

Coworkers Ryan Steele and Rob Goddard are "wisecracking" (is that a euphemism for smartass?) bartender friends from Vancouver.

The 36-year-old Steele, originally from Langley, is a sketch comic who is known for his online videos from the Ryan Steele Show and his live act with Amy Goodmurphy, The Ryan and Amy Show.

The 24-year-old Goddard, whose hometown is Smithers, B.C., was Mr. Gay Canada 2011, and competed for Mr. Gay World in Manila, Philippines. He's also a model and personal trainer who has studied in Australia. So even if they don't fare well, he'll still look good doing it all, which is the important thing.

Goddard says he's afraid of Steele's drag persona, Reveinka, but Steele seems to fear Goddard's sense of humour. Though the dynamic duo have traveled together, both admit they're bad with directions—so at least they're off to a good start there.

Meanwhile, there's more LGBT representation in the mix with married couple Laura Takahashi and Jackie Skinner, two humanitarians and world travellers from Toronto.

Among their newly announced rivals are twin competitive skiers Pierre and Michel Forget (Pierre won the International Ski Federation Moguls World Cup title in 1994) from Terrebonne, Quebec.

There's also another pair from B.C. in the race: siblings Sukhi and Jinder Atwal from Terrace.

The series will air on CTV on Tuesdays, starting on July 8.
