Homeless in Vancouver: “Sqwaaa!” (Cornelius the crow says hello)

    1 of 2 2 of 2

Al and his pal Cornelius the crow came into the Go Green bottle depot a few days ago. Al was there to cash in returnable containers. Cornelius was just tagging along.

Al explained that he offered the crow some food a few weeks ago and the two had been inseparable ever since.

      “It’s just that easy!”

      Thanks, Shell.

Anyway, it was interesting to see how strongly Cornelius has bonded with Al and vice versa. The two happily chatted while they waited to be paid. Al actually carried the entire conversation but Cornelius sat on his shoulder and paid very close attention.

The crow was also fine with people petting it—weird huh, petting a crow? And posing for photos? Apparently Al couldn’t go a block without someone pulling out their camera phone to take a picture.

Twitter and Instagram may already be wall-to-wall with photos of Cornelius the crow; I don’t know, but I don’t really give a Sqwaaa!

Not camera shy: Cornelius, the googly-eyed pet crow, strikes a pose.
